Dr. Walker J. Roan
Dr Roan attended the University of Kentucky and earned her doctorate from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a 1 year rotating internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute staying on for an additional four years as an associate. Subsequently she became a partnering owner of a mixed animal practice in Bourbon County, KY. Dr. Roan joined BVS in 2019 with adding the Medical Director role in 2023. Her clinical interests include trauma, soft tissue surgery and practicing medicine with an emphasis on supporting the human-animal bond in the recovery of sick and injured animals.
On her small farm she lives with her family of two children and a variety of horses, dogs, cats, and birds. In her spare time Dr. Roan enjoys riding her horses, cooking, hosting friends and family, and spending time with her children.
